Connecting Digital Learning and Sustainability

Founder | Dr Helen Coker

Digital Learning Matters provides high quality professional development which connects digital learning with sustainability. It’s not about learning about sustainability (which is also important), it’s about ensuring that we design, develop and deliver high quality learning interventions that contribute to the collective wellbeing of people and the planet.

Digital learning (online learning, mobile learning, virtual learning etc.) impacts peoples' experience and shapes their behaviour. It has great potential for individual and collective wellbeing, as it can provide access to high quality instruction and a wealth of knowledge. Digital technology has an environmental cost though.

As more people engage with forms of digital learning in the workplace, consideration of how these experiences impact both people and planet is important. Sustainability (caring for people and planet) and digital technology are interconnected in many ways. But we don't always talk about them at the same time. That's what Digital Learning Matters aims to change.
